Subject	Stupid noob gas smell question (longish)

Message	I noticed that when I put the car away for the winter that I smelled gas. No harm, let it sit over the winter. Got it back on the road yesterday, road to the garage to locate smell. Tightened everything I could reach. Lower gas line from the filter to the undercarrage hardlines was real loose and damp with gas, wiped and tightened. The rest were just a little loose but cranked a turn or two to make sure. Gas cap whooshes when I undo it. I still have the gas smell although not as strong as before. So to the question; how long will it take for the gas residue, lower connection, to evaporate? Or am I missing something obvious, hence the noob disclaimer.
